Brackets
As traffic signs are getting larger with the new regulations, we have designed and developed improved brackets to conform to the new standards. MDSolutions sign brackets are cast from high strength aluminum alloy 360, under 400 tons pressure, and tensile strength 45,000 PSI and are tumbled and degreased for smoothness and ease of handling. Our wide and extensive range of brackets are used on round, square, u-channel, nex and wood posts. Mounting hardware comes installed on brackets saving time and hassle of counting loose pieces. All brackets are drilled and tapped to receive 5/16” set screws.
Side Mounting/Direct Mount Brackets

Common Bracket Selection Mistakes
Choosing the wrong bracket costs more than just money. Here’s what to watch for.
-
1
Ordering before checking the municipality spec
Most jurisdictions have an approved bracket type built into their sign standards. Always confirm before ordering to avoid costly change orders.
-
2
Stocking separate 90° and 180° U-Channel caps unnecessarily
The new Clover Bracket handles both orientations with a single SKU — reducing inventory costs with no capability trade-off.
-
3
Using standard steel brackets in coastal environments
Salt spray corrodes standard steel within months. Aluminum Alloy 360 is the preferred specification for any installation near saltwater.
-
4
Undersizing brackets for larger signs
As sign sizes increase to meet MUTCD visibility requirements, wind load increases significantly. Ensure your bracket is rated for the sign size and your region’s wind exposure.
